White-Lipped Snake Warrandyte.
This is a small species not more than 50 cm, Its is common but rarely seen around the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, it prefers forested areas, can be active day or night, lives mainly on skink's and small frogs.
It is not dangerous to humans, however, they do have small fangs and venom glands but you are unlikely to get bitten, It is better to not handle these snakes as they do look very similar to a Copperhead, if you think you have been bitten seek medical advice immediately.
